"Harry Statham" is an American basketball coach. He is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Basketball Hall of Fame. His 1,083 wins during his 47 seasons at McKendree University of Lebanon, Illinois, are unmatched by any other men's basketball coach at a four-year college or university in the United States (albeit he has coached at the NAIA level until the 2012-2013 season when McKendree transitioned to NCAA Division II). The only other four coaches at a four-year school with 1,000 or more wins are Pat Summitt, Danny Miles, Mike Krzyzewski, and Herb Magee. In the junior college (two-year) ranks, Gene Bess of Three Rivers Community College had 1,169 wins entering the 2013-14 season.

On March 7, 2012, Statham was named as one of the coaches on the NAIA 75th Anniversary All-Star Team.

It was a big win for us. Now we have to go win that last one.

It reminds me a little bit of the old Bearcat (Gymnasium). It will be a packed house, noisy, a great environment. We're excited to be playing. At this stage, as long as you win, that's the key.

UIS made some big shots. We had some turnovers that really hurt us were self-inflicted. Those were big plays. It's a championship game, and you make the big plays. I felt proud our kids came back again. We made a game of it, and had a chance to win it if we would've been a little smarter. But we had a young team and those things happen sometimes. Give UIS credit, they did a nice job.

He said it was tighter and tighter and that he wasn't going to be able to play.

We had a great half the last time up here, and we chipped away this time and got it back to where it was winnable. But you have to play flawless basketball at that point. You can't turn it over and give up easy plays.

He came down for a visit and liked it and decided he was going to come here. A big factor is Eric Palm was here. I'm sure he wanted to play with Eric. He liked our program and was going to make a move.

You just can't keep doing that. They made some big shots, too, but we made some crucial mistakes late that hurt us -- a couple of quick shots, a couple of unforced turnovers, a couple of fouls.
