When you have conflicting viewpoints, it's hard to get people to change their minds, especially when they've dug in their heels. There were certainly tough times and awkward silences. It was a tough experience for everyone involved.

All of us felt there wasn't enough evidence on either side to give a verdict.

There was shouting. There was hostility during the deliberation. There was adamant disagreement, but ultimately everyone respected everyone else's point of view.

In the next trial it's going to be 12 other men and women with a different set of attitudes. That's what it's going to come down to - the attitudes of the people looking at the issues and the evidence.
