It's something all of us around here already knew. If the only thing you knew about Mike is that he had a good basketball team, it would not be as compelling.

It's not real common. But I think it's a step we need to take starting with Mike. It is something that I think we need to find a way to do more of it. I think the level of success in our athletic program has more than warranted that we do this.

He was always working a little harder than everybody else. He had that little extra drive to be better, and he really pushed himself. It made a lot of kids want to work out with him.

That is a very nice conclusion to a great story.

You're wrestling good kids all the time if you're from Stoughton or Mineral Point.

I think the pressure you put on yourself is the only pressure that really exists. But, going up there, you're expected to win it if you're from Mineral Point or Stoughton. We've had so many great individuals. If you don't (win), it's obviously kind of upsetting.

This is an example of how athletics can benefit and bring recognition to a university. That type of publicity for our basketball program and our university, you really can't measure that.
