I was happy where I was. I liked what I was doing. It was my life.

It's a very diverse community, with people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. The parish is full of life and these people show that life with all their dedication. I've really enjoyed working with them. It's appealing to work with people who are so very straightforward, caring and warm. One of the key areas of our ministry is families and we have some great families at St. Lawrence.

Faith has always been a part of my life. I just never knew where it was going to lead me. I've always said that God draws straight with crooked lines. When I look back, I am glad I followed the straight line. Everything I learned in the business world has been a life experience. It's helped me become who I am and it really helped the calling.

I'm very happy to be receiving it. It's a great honor. I'm looking forward to going and I'm glad Father Gary can go with me. It should be a nice time of year to go.

As I volunteered more and more, I realized that I liked that more. That's where my heart went out. I spent a lot of time volunteering and being involved with the church.

It was a leap of faith for me. I decided to leave my job and find out how I could become more involved. I started talking to my family and to spiritual directors and they all encouraged me. The calling was definitely there.

We have a lot of fun as well as learn. With the children, you have to include fun for them.

The perception is that religious education is just for children, but that's not the case. It would be unfair to leave the adults out. It's for the whole family, the community. We're always encouraged to have everyone join in and grow in their faith.
