"Jerome McKinley "Gerald" Henderson, Sr." is a retired American basketball player. He was a combo guard who had a 13-year career in the National Basketball Association/NBA from 1979 until 1992. He played for the Boston Celtics, Seattle SuperSonics, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons, and Houston Rockets. Henderson was born in Richmond, Virginia and attended Virginia Commonwealth University.

He was most famous for his steal off a James Worthy pass to score a game-tying layup in game two of the 1984 NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers/L.A. Lakers. The Celtics eventually prevailed in overtime. Henderson then told the reporters, "For a minute I could hear Johnny Most going, 'Henderson steals the ball!'"

As of 2006, he and his wife run a real estate business in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Their son, Gerald Henderson, Jr. was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats of the National Basketball Association in the 2009 NBA Draft.

In 2012, Henderson was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame and Museum/Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.

Scott puts a concentrated effort into everything he does. He's going to make things happen there.

If I was going to get it, I was going get it. If not, I wasn't going to jeopardize the game to do it. I don't think people are going to remember me as the leading scorer at my school, I don't think that's going to define my career really. Being a team player ... that means a lot to me.

We've got very unique games. We're both good scorers and get the ball to the hoop. He's more finesse and I'm more power and get to the basket well.

Getting to the basket and getting to the foul line, I think that's where I'm at my best.

I've never met someone as competitive. We play one-on-one and stuff gets heated.

The way we turned it up in the second half, it really showed people why we're the best team in the state and Southeastern Pennsylvania.

I'd love to guard him, all these other dudes are scared of him. I ain't scared of nobody, especially Wayne, because I know all his moves and stuff.

As a team we understand we can get so many buckets at the rim. We've been working on that, trying to get better at it in games.

We both liked to win and we needed each other to do that, so we made it work.
