The White House is a study in uncontrolled chaos. Screaming matches are the order of the day.

We're talking about a basic violation of the Constitutional guarantee of a free press as well as a violation of the rights of privacy of American citizens. I had hoped we would have learned our lessons from the Nixon era. Sadly, it appears we have not.

I'd start by cutting Congressional salaries in half and limiting House and Senate sessions to 60 days a year. Congressional service should be just that - service, not a career.

Politics attracts the glib, the fast talker and the con artist. It's a natural place for those who think fast on their feet.

(Former Speaker of the House) Tip O'Neill used to say all politics is local. That's not true when it comes to financing campaigns. Most big dollar Senate and House campaigns today are financed heavily by individuals and groups from outside a state or Congressional district.

Of all the Presidents I've served or observed, George W. Bush is the least receptive to the opinion of others. He has no interest in what others think and he doesn't listen to the advice of experts or professionals.

Frankly, I'm surprised. I thought the story would have legs and get much more attention. After all the debate in Congress over the need for the President to keep them in the loop he simply signs away one of the key provisions of the revised act.

I'd say it has all the makings of a palace revolt. The President's base is not only eroding?in many cases it's in full mutiny.

The leadership of both Houses of Congress needs a serious wake up call. You can't preach morality and family values while you wink and look the other way when one your own breaks the law.
