"Geoff Carr" is an Australian former professional rugby league football player of the 1970s and administrator of the 1990s and 2000s. He was the CEO of the Australian Rugby League as well as the New South Wales Rugby League. Carr also played first grade in the NSWRL premiership with the St. George Dragons during the 1970s and reached the 1971 grand final with them.

Carr was appointed secretary of the St. George club in 1989. He later became the club's chief executive, and in 1995 after exploring the possibility of a merger with the Roosters in an attempt to match the turnover of the all-conquering Brisbane Broncos, was sacked by his board.{{cite news

It's normal procedure these days to have an extra player on hand in the event of any illness or training mishap.

A majority of games are now on Fox Sports so selectors - and there are only four of them - don't need to be at every game.

There is no doubt there is an appetite in Melbourne for a match of this stature.
