I'm just going to have to turn it up a notch, and get out, knock on doors and tell my story. My story is about creating jobs here in Burlington and getting jobs and working toward making life better for the people of Burlington. I just want to be a part of that.

I plan on voting against tabling this. I think we ought to move on and vote up or down on it. Or, somebody needs to come up with an alternative, but I'm not going to keep focusing on this issue.

I'm not comfortable with making an honorary name for Jim Kelly on Mason Road. I think Charles Mason was a prominent man and Jim Kelly is a prominent man. Jim Kelly needs his own street. ... I don't think it's befitting to have Charles Mason and Jim Kelly on the same street.

I go back to when the Constitution was written by our founding fathers. We profess as a nation to be a Christian nation. Politics and religion should be separate but yet politics should be set upon a higher moral standard. The highest moral standard that we have as a nation is the Holy Bible.

That's one thing I could help with ? bring jobs to the forefront. We need to continue to go to Washington, D.C., talk to our senators there that represent us. I want to continue to hold discussions with groups of people interested in bringing jobs in.

I've always had a sense of accomplishment from these goal?setting sessions.

Doing the right thing would be to get Jim his own street.

They added a park up there. People were able to fix up their homes ... There was a lot of excitement about it when it was going on, to put in new street lights. It was just a wonderful program. We need to fund that again and go to the next neighborhood.
