"Robert Craig "Evel" Knievel" was an American Stunt performer/daredevil, painting/painter, entertainer, and international icon. Knievel died of pulmonary disease in Clearwater, Florida, aged 69. In his obituary in British newspaper The Times, Knievel was described as one of the greatest American icons of the 1970s. Knievel was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999.
