The better team today beat us. They came out and made the plays. We tip our hats. We did not play good enough to win today.

We were ready to play. It had nothing to do with not being ready. They just beat us.

In this league, you've gotta hang in there. You're going to face a good pitcher like that. We were just lucky to get a couple runs at the end. He got ahead of us, and was shutting us down. Maybe that's where some of the experience comes in; when one part of our team is down, another part rises a little bit.

As a sophomore, for him to pitch well in this league is a credit to himself. He's worked hard to physically be able to (do well) and more so with his ability to throw strikes in tough situations.
