This is troubling because there are about 35 million contact-lens wearers in the USA and, of those, roughly 25 million or 26 million are soft lens wearers. Basically, everybody who wears soft lenses is at risk for this type of infection.

It's great news. It's an excellent way to prevent a condition that's difficult to treat.

We're expecting to see more age-related macular degeneration because the baby boomer generation is approaching that age, and everyone is living longer. It potentially could be devastating.
