It's really sad. We're seeing a lot of young girls and boys coming in on it. In high school, it used to be alcohol and now its methamphetamine.

Before any of us are comfortable pulling money out of the general fund, we need to know more of what our capital improvements are and what will be the costs, including Jeffrey Mansion repairs.

We don't have children. We worked hard. We wanted to give something back to the community.

I'm not against (legalization), and I'm not for it. Whatever people want to do is fine with me.

You can't reason with them.

We (the city) have a budget. Add-ons are great in concept. However, $300,000 to $500,000 (for various design elements) doesn't historically fall into our lap.

The whole pool issue is taking on a life of its own. We know it needs to be done, but it is getting more expensive rather than less expensive.

This was a big win in terms of the district, but it's a big win any time you beat a good quality team on their home court. We had a nice fourth quarter and we hit a lot of free-throws at the end ... and you know, this is what high school basketball is all about. The crowd was into it and it was close all the way through, and it was just a great ball game.

It's got to be affordable. We (city council) have a budget to live within. We will give the community as much as they want for what we can afford.

People can come up at the end of the day, and we can all sit around and lie about how we did.
