I came out one day and I saw Houston Gardens, (expletive) New Orleans.

We are here so our voices can be heard, so our lives and our levees can be rebuilt, so we can go home.

My fellow Katrina survivors and I have experienced more tragedy in the last six months than most people have in a lifetime. We have lost relatives, friends and our community. The federal government should live up to its responsibility to rebuild.

It seems to me that we are getting picked on just because we are from Louisiana.

ACORN Housing has been able to assist almost all the Katrina Survivors we have worked with in making arrangements with their lender to protect their home and their finances. But everyone needs to get in contact with their lender or ACORN Housing as soon as possible -- and we are going to go out in the community to make sure as many people as possible know they need to act now.
