Being the grand marshal of the Jackie Robinson West Little League Season Opening Parade is a real honor for me. That Little League program has begun the careers of many people in and out of the world of sports.

If you try hard enough, you can keep teams below their average. ... If we're going to be a winning team, we've got to rely on our defense because our offense isn't going to do it.

The record wasn't in my thought process at all. All I was focused on was winning the game. I'm glad it's over so the team can get back to focusing on continuing to improve.

Playing for the city championship is always one of the goals that we set for our team at the start of the season. We're certainly looking forward to it.

We're definitely going to have to improve if we want to move on to the city title game.

We control our own destiny. Our guard play has been disappointing all along. At some point we need to step up and take control.

It hasn't really sunk in yet. I'm sure when it's all said and done, it will rank high on my list of coaching accomplishments. Right now, winning my first state championship is the highlight of my career.

Right now the focus one getting better. We didn't play well in our last game (a loss to Whitney Young) and if we expect to advance in the playoffs we will have to play better.
