He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Miami Marlins/Florida Marlins, Detroit Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks and Cincinnati Reds. Willis is notable for his success during his first few years in MLB for his unconventional pitching style, which includes a high leg kick and exaggerated twisting away from the batter. Willis was named the 2003 National League Major League Baseball Rookie of the Year Award/Rookie of the Year.
