Charles City is much improved from the previous years. They gave us some good and close matches and we pulled all of them out except for the number one doubles. That one finished in the cold, wind, and rain.

She played a very consistent match to win at that spot. In the third set, she was down 0-2 and pulled out the win. She had to figure out a few things and how to play a player who puts a lot of spin on the ball.

They just kept going and didn't give up. That was awesome.

To win one match, have another go for a tie and have two others split sets was great for us. I thought that the girls really tried to keep the ball in play against their opponents. They have some things to work on, but they are working hard and will do well in some meets.

We didn't get to play Dike/New Hartford last year because of weather, so we weren't sure going in what they were like and what they had for players. The girls handled them just fine. Connie Beyer had the most exciting match as she was down 4-7 and fought back to win 10-7.

It was nice to get our first win for both on the season and now we can go from there.

We had some close matches and had some opportunities with some of the other singles and doubles, but couldn't quite pull them out.

A couple of my doubles teams were playing together for the first time and they kind of felt each other out and also found what works. It was a good win for us with a totally different line-up.

It was a nice win for us. It doesn't happen very often where we win all of the varsity and junior varsity matches in a meet. All of the girls played well.
