The university hopes to have the matter addressed by the newly assigned trial judge as quickly as possible and, if necessary, for any appeals to be completed so that the next legislature can confirm an appointment as quickly as possible.

Mike Hubbard was not a part of that negotiation process. He was not at the table.

The final candidate will be the president's selection, but the trustees will still have to confirm that selection.

They have to deal with all contracts, leases, ordinances, lawsuits. There's an enormous amount of paperwork involved. The need has been there for some time. We're well beneath the benchmark nationally for having just two attorneys on counsel.

The president has reviewed the candidates and we're planning to post them on Monday. The process is on schedule.
