If anybody has seen this man, (they) know what kind of pain he's in. He's 69 years old. We've got to get Coach to focus on his health. That's the most important thing.

We want him to get well, get back on his feet and we will look forward to the time when he will return and continue his contribution to our university.

I think it's been a spectacular hire. I don't know how you could define it any other way.

I don't know for sure, but frankly, I'll be surprised. I mean, anybody who has seen this man knows what kind of pain he's in.

The faculty were a little concerned. We got a lot of e-mails about 'How dare you let that guy back into the game.' ... We just decided to withstand it.

There were lots of doubters, lots of people saying it was too risky. I had to sell some people on it. ... In my opinion it was a no-risk situation.

Now what is important is the health of Coach Sutton. We admire his courage, his forthrightness and his honesty this evening. We want him to get well and we will do whatever we can to support him to the fullest.

Coach Sutton has been dealing with constant back and hip problems the last couple of seasons and after last Friday?s accident he feels this is the best decision for his health and for the team.
