Things like this help in recruiting and program stability.

We went into [the opener] feeling both would play, and we'll go into this game probably with the same plan. The only thing we'll do on offense is just maybe try to simplify things a little bit and allow those guys to have success without thinking so much.

We're playing a bunch of young guys, and I just believe that every time they play and get more experience, it's going to make us better. That's not a lot of consolation for some of the seniors in our program, but I've been in this situation before, and I know we're making progress as a program.

I appreciate the support [school president Dr. William E. Cooper] and [Athletic Director] Jim Miller have given me, the confidence they have in me, and I think this is an indication that they are satisfied with the direction of the program.

I think he'll be playing for us soon, we just don't know if it will be this week or not.
