"David Gregory "Dave" Bliss" is a former American college basketball coach. He coached at University of Oklahoma, Southern Methodist University, University of New Mexico and Baylor University

Bliss resigned from Baylor in 2003 following Baylor University basketball scandal/internal and NCAA investigations into a number of circumstances surrounding the murder of Baylor player Patrick Dennehy by a former player Carlton Dotson. These included the alleged involvement of Bliss in making illicit tuition payments for players Dennehy and Corey Herring, and his alleged attempt to frame Dennehy posthumously as a drug dealer in order to provide cover for himself; in 2005 the NCAA issued him a 10-year "show cause" notice, effectively blackballing him from the coaching ranks until 2015.

Bliss is currently the Athletic Director, Dean of Students, and Head Basketball Coach at the Allen Academy, a private Prep School in Bryan, Texas.

We get along off the court, but you have to get used to how everyone plays. We have to adjust as a team and get that chemistry.

For us to be perceived as having a drug problem, it couldn't be further from the truth. There may be an individual that has certain problems, I don't know about that, but I do know we have one of the most sound and supportive drug policies.

We were only down about three and we started taking some hurried shots. I was disappointed we didn't stay solid.

I have no understanding how I got to that point. In a panic situation, you don't always make good decisions.

He's still with us, but he's hoping that it works out for him to have one of these other offers.

First of all, nobody is ever going to know about the fact you might have smoked weed with the guys. I think the thing we want to do -- and you think about this -- if there's a way we can create the perception that Pat may have been a dealer. Even if we had to kind of make some things look a little better than they are, that can save us.

We kind of approach it like a triangle, like we know who our top picks are, but down from there, we've got to be flexible.

We were doing real well at the start of the game and we lost track of some of the things that got us there. When things are going well offensively, we need to not forget to play at the other end.

I made a mistake and I'm grateful for the second chance. I'm humbled about what I did. Selfishness and ambition played a large role in what I did.
