I understand when you have to look at cutting budgets. But when you look at one program and you take one thing out of it, you eliminate participation. It counters what has been a statewide move to provide more opportunities.

We want to give him a chance to craft his own staff and see who would be or would not be a good fit here.

I also think he won't be a dictator but that he'll be an open coach. He wants his assistants to do their jobs. He also has good insight as to what is the purpose of high school athletics and what his kids will have learned when the season is over.
