We were a little disappointed that adding artificial turf to the infield at Joe Martin didn't end up being part of the accepted bid. That's something we all wanted because we have so many rainouts.

We woke up in the second quarter and really started playing hard.

I thought it was a great team effort defensively. The girls did what they needed to do to win.

A couple of years ago the city of Bellingham tried to get the state soccer tournament here, and part of the reason we didn't get it was the facilities. Hopefully we'll have a better chance to bring those kinds of events here now.

Jackie Zender came off the bench in the second half and really sparked us.

We were very balanced on offense. I'm really happy with the way the girls played tonight.

It's great for the community and great for the kids. It's an opportunity to let them sleep in their own beds, and that helps in competition.

No question Anacortes played outstanding defense after the first quarter.
