It was pretty clear (business owners) would like it pushed back. Anything we do to expedite it to get the bridge in service, we'll do it.

We're very concerned about the total cost of the project, but we're also very concerned the existing structure is in very poor condition.

It's unfortunate we can't make everyone happy.

We're trying to be as accommodating as we can and minimize the pain everyone's going to feel when the bridge is closed.

It's not up to the residents, it's not up to Public Works, it's up to the board.
