"Charles Fuqua Manuel, Jr." (born January 4, 1944) is a former American professional baseball manager (baseball)/manager who last managed the Philadelphia Phillies. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1969–1975 and in Nippon Professional Baseball as an outfielder from 1976–1981. After his playing career, Manuel became an MLB coach and manager, most recently managing the Philadelphia Phillies from 2005–2013. Manuel managed the Phillies to a championship title during the 2008 World Series. He now serves as the senior advisor to the Phillies General manager (baseball)/General Manager.
