The government should sit down with teachers and work out a deal. I don't want to see a general strike. I don't want to see people not returning to work. It's the premier who has to show some leadership and step up to the plate. He missed an opportunity again today.

It was the toughest work I'd ever done.

I think it's very clear the premier doesn't like the Canada Health Act, he wants to find a way around it, he wants to find [forms of] privatization and [how] they introduce it.

Have you made up your mind? I decided that I would regret it for the rest of my life if I did not stand up the way my family stood up.

That is a damning comment. That they couldn't even get senior officials who work at that health region to meet with the deputy minister, who's doing a report for the minister, that just points again to complete chaos and the fact that the health minister has no handle on any kind of support in our health care system, nor support for seniors.

I did see some things that were missing in this throne speech. I didn't hear anything about health care, probably the number one issue that I heard in my travels around the province. I didn't hear anything about affordability for tuition for students in this throne speech.

The premier could save himself a trip to Europe by actually going over to Alberta and looking at [Alberta's] public clinic if he wants to.
