I played against him in Rome and Hamburg this year, won twice in straight sets. Also, I haven't lost to a Spaniard this year yet, so hopefully tomorrow this will continue.

I'm motivated and focused to make it three titles in a row, but it won't be easy.

I'm not playing my 100 percent, perhaps because I'm a bit rusty at the start of the season.

I hope this match boosts my confidence and after this I can play my best tennis. Sooner or later I know I'm going to play well again so I hope it's here.

He deserved to win. The match was very easy for him, ... His style of play didn't surprise me, but what did surprise me was how badly I played.

Two things happened tonight. He played well but most importantly I didn't. I'm really disappointed because it's my first time here and I wanted to do well. Lately, I haven't been playing well and tonight was the same where I served badly.

After the injury [in Sydney], I had my doubts but I managed to play well in Buenos Aires, and hopefully the problems are over.

In the tiebreaker, I was up 4-0 and again 5-2, and then came the aces from Ivan. You've got to be careful against guys like him, he serves a couple of aces and he's there again.

I thought I played well but he was still good enough to take a set off me. He produced some good winners in the second set and the chances he took paid off.
