"Bryce Homer Drew" (born September 21, 1974) is the head coach, and a former member, of the Valparaiso University Valparaiso Crusaders/Crusaders men's basketball team. His father, Homer Drew, had served as the head coach of the men's basketball team, and his brother Scott Drew is the head coach of Baylor University's men's basketball team after having served nine years as assistant coach at Valparaiso and one year as head coach. Bryce Drew is also known for his buzzer-beating shot in the first round of Valparaiso's run in the 1998 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. He also played six seasons in the National Basketball Association/NBA, as a backup point guard for the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Pelicans/Charlotte/New Orleans Hornets.

We should know something about one of the kids in a few hours or so.

That would have changed everything.

I still really enjoy seeing the highlight when they show it this time of year. To see it all happen again... I still get chills.

One thing Jimmie does do is help our defense. He usually gets a steal, here or there, and helps get our transition game going. He's always a capable scorer. He can reel off three, five or seven points in a row. Hopefully, we'll get him back to full strength real soon.

We're definitely excited about him coming here. He's a true 7-foot-1, with a very big wing span. He'll come in here with a lot of experience. I think that experience should help him make a contribution to our team right away.

It helps us a lot. The sad thing is, the last game he played before he got sick (vs. Oakland, Jan. 2) was probably his best game this year. We thought he had turned the corner in that game.
