Total devastation. There's nothing left. Waveland was a beautiful town. It had just bounced back from Camille. They were planning new streets. People were buying new homes.

I had to force my mother to leave. I sent her (there), where she drowned.

This was our family home since 1969. We lost our first house in Hurricane Camille, just across the street there.

It's like an artist with a clean slate. You just have to paint a new picture. And hopefully, a better one.
