Even when a win is ugly, you find satisfaction in it because it's a win. If we were sitting here today at 3-2 after playing that way, I'm sure we'd be feeling a little different.

Junior has no illusions that he's 25, but he'll go at it and work hard. If everything is working out, he'll play.

He really wants to make this work. While things certainly haven't worked out the way Kenny wanted if Kenny had been healthy the past four years and hitting 50 home runs, it still wouldn't have meant a division title for the Reds. That's where people are just trying to find someone to blame.

The JC option is more to keep his options open, whether that means continuing to talk to the Tigers through the coming year, or enter next year's draft rather than wait three years. It's an indicator of how anxious he is to play and get his career going.

Business aside, you still have to be, first and foremost, a fan. And when you get down to a month before the end of the season, and there's this many teams in it, it's got to be a good thing.

The frustrating part is that I still do not know who I could call with the Tigers who has the authority to get a deal done.

I just threw my arm up and deflected the ball. It wasn't really a play that I was trying to make. It just inadvertently happened. I'm glad I was there in the right place at the right time.

I'd love to go through the history of some of the ugliest games ever and see who's won them. Great teams win a lot of ugly games.

You can say you've always been focused and all that, but honestly, I think this is the most focused football team I've been around as far as week in and week out realizing that it's a new week, a new game and a new set of circumstances to deal with.

You get a win like this, you learn from it. You learn from your mistakes and you realize you made some mistakes, but you can still win.

To be, I would say, lacking in those two areas and still go out and compete at the level he does is amazing to me, ... It's just a credit to his character, the confidence that he goes out on the field with.

I don't know if I've ever faced an athlete that dominant in Little League, college or the pros.

When a team plays that, they've got to nickel and dime and pick (their) way down the field, ... And one thing we pride ourselves on is we try not to get frustrated. If the plays aren't coming, somebody will say - John Lynch, Al Wilson, Trevor Pryce, myself - one of the leaders will say, 'Hey, just calm down, we'll get off the field here, just keep on playing hard.' .

They're going to have to. With the pressure that front four is getting, some teams are going to say it's a necessity. Washington stuck to it; they did a good job.
