"Brent Ronald Peterson" is a retired professional ice hockey player and coach. He played 11 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) with four clubs, primarily as a low-scoring checker with a reputation as a strong defensive forward. He was a longtime assistant coach with the Nashville Predators, retiring in 2011 for health reasons. Peterson is now an advisor for the team.

He is the brother of former Calgary Stampeders/Calgary Stampeder Greg Peterson (Canadian football)/Greg Peterson.
