It wasn't any tougher than I expected, but with only having one guy with any previous experience at this level, it just wasn't in the cards.

He's good at tying up the other guys, but we want him to open up a little more, which will make him even more of threat. He's an athletic kid, works hard in practice. We'd like to see him take it to the next level.

That semifinal match actually helped his confidence. But Chris is the kind of guy that does a lot of summer wrestling, and it's really paying off in the postseason.

That was the fourth time he's beat Poland this year and sometimes it's hard to get up for that kind of a match.

I'm real proud of the fact all three of our seniors were able to wrestle in the district. I think they raised the bar from where it was and where we want to go. Hopefully, we'll have this many moving on to state next year.

He definitely has some natural ability and catches on quickly.

If we want to get better, we've got to get a tougher schedule. It's time to turn it up a notch, but I think we're taking steps in the right direction.

The kids wrote down their goals, and a lot of them wrote that they want to place in the top three at sectional. I think we've got a chance to get a lot more kids through this year. We're hoping we'll have five to seven guys make it to district.

I think we've got a good chance to get a lot more guys through to district this year and that will help our team score. It's just a matter of how we wrestle on that day. If we wrestle to our full potential, I think we can do very well as a team.
