That gave us the script pretty much that we shot.

Paul and I tried to write from a place that was real and honest. Maybe the issue of race isn't the same as it was, but it's still here. We tried to dig into the soul and find the place where it was coming from.

Paul was interested in how complete strangers affect each other in ways they could never imagine, and I was interested in the notion of fear.

And it seems to have hit a chord in the hearts and minds of people who see it, who feel that it has some relevance in the world.

I thought that Jack [Nicholson, who presented the Oscar] had a little too much to drink and said the wrong film.

The pendulum in Hollywood is coming back to story-telling.

We wrote the script very quick, in a couple of weeks.

We found a reason for doing the show. There's an emotional tie, now. There is now a vital reason for exploring this topic as a play.
