I was going full gas in January and I just didn't have any gas left in the tank after a long season, ... Right now, it kind of stings. I wanted to go out on a high note and I wouldn't have even raced if I thought I was going to get 11th, but I have nothing to be ashamed of. It just proves I'm human and I do have limits.

The professionalism (of the race) is what keeps the European teams coming back and what makes the American riders so focused. The Coors Classic and Tour Du Pont were huge things that got George and I into cycling and now it's up to us to inspire the next generation (of cyclist). I think the Tour of California can help up with that.

My work with Bjarne and the rest of the team has definitely played the main part in me achieving these kinds of results this late in my career.

It's going to be pretty hard [to catch Landis]. This is pretty much it.

But on a course like that it was like an Indy car circuit. You could just sit at the back and do nothing and it was kind of pointless to ride on the front, but that?s what we do for training.

That won't happen again. You can maybe disappoint Lance once, but it's better not to disappoint him twice.

This is Lance's world and we're squirrels just trying to get a nut. If he comes here ready to play, we're all suffering.
