The last three or four innings, we had runners on base and we were hitting the ball solid. We had only one strikeout in the last three or four innings. We were ripping the ball pretty good. It's the sign of a good team when they can come back. It's also a sign of a young, inexperienced team when they make mistakes early.

She has been getting more effective lately. We've changed the philosophy of how she is pitching, and she is doing much better with it. The walks are way down. She's very close to the strike zone all the time.

Cindy has brilliant moments. She pitched kind of erratic today; she had four walks and wasn't exactly as good as she wants to be. But she's a good pitcher, she's coming around.

The conference is open to whoever wants to play really good the last half of the season and win it.

They need their focus tuned in every once in a while and that's what I was trying to do right there -- get them adjusted and focused on what they've got to do. They respond to different kinds of treatment and this was a game they had to hear it loud.

We've been working a lot more on hitting our spots in practice. Not just throwing pitches with big break on it, but hitting the locations. That's critical.

Getting beat by East and getting beat by Althoff, that doesn't set well going into the sectional (seeding) meeting in two weeks. We're going to have to battle from here.

She's very tough, she's a very competitive pitcher. We were just prepared better in that inning for her. We prepared the whole game for her, but that inning everything kind of fell into place.

That triple was a big, big hit for her. She went with an outside pitch and put it where it had to go. Morgan Parkhurst with two outs (also) had that single up the middle that brings in a big run.
