We had good defense, especially our pressure defense in the first quarter.
It was a game of little runs.
Because Nurse was missing we were able to pressure the ball and get turnovers.
We were so pumped up last night for our two girls. I think they were just as pumped up for their girl. They started with more energy than us. We caught back up, but we never took the lead.
We were ahead 9-4 at the end of one quarter and at the half it was 27-10. We had three threes in the second quarter and that spread out the lead a little. Rhett Fitzgerald had two and Jesse had one.
It was 11-7 at the end of the first quarter. It was actually pretty even, unfortunately, but then we were able to break their press pretty easily and get some easy baskets.
It was pretty balanced. But we need to do a better job of defending the post.
We weren't ready to play. They got a huge lead and never recovered from it. In all honesty we didn't have any place to go.
Senior night can go one of two ways. It can either get your emotions stirred up early and you can come out flat, or it can get you fired up and come out hard. We came out strong and with lots of intensity.
