The opening ceremonies both times was the best part for me. With all those athletes and all those colors, flags and music, it's moving. I wish I'd had a better skate, but being an Olympian and being part of all that was just too cool.

Other than rhythmic gymnastics, it's really the only sport that crosses over into art. The truly artistic skaters offer so much more than a skater who's just an athlete. I think it has a great deal of appeal to women, which is our core audience. It's always been popular and I think this year will be no exception.

He's a lifelong friend. They just want to be out of Los Angeles. They've got a little boy and they love Tennessee.

It's been so long overdue. I think it takes away about 50% of the judges' importance to the event because now you have former skaters and former coaches sitting there calling the elements. The judges can only judge the transitions, the music, the program. So it's taken a lot out of their hands. I think it's great.

I used to stay up all night long. I worked from 11 at night until 7 in the morning, making the ice and cleaning a rink in Wilmington, Del. If it's something you want to do, the fatigue is less important. That job paid the bills and enabled me to skate.

I think our ladies will do well, and our men will be lucky to get a medal. I think we have a good dance team that will get a medal. I'm not so sure that we'll even be close to a medal in pairs.

Virtually all of the Olympic facilities have been totally destroyed. That mimics what's happened for the country, too.
