I think the fun part of the show is, every hour is completely different. There's no formula by any stretch of imagination.

We thought they were a good, strong team. It's an exhausting trip, and it's a trip that takes a month to complete.

Kids have major advantages just by size. They can climb through something with more agility, and they're very fast in a crowd.

We've had all kinds of people, from age 21 to 70. As long as they are in good physical and mental condition, they are eligible. But we look for pre-existing relationships. That's the key.

They came to us as self-described nerds. And we couldn't disagree. But they are an adorable Midwestern couple. They are real people and a terrific team.

People always ask us, 'What changes are you making? Are you going to keep it fresh?' ... Luckily, we had some phenomenal families.

We like to keep it real, we turn people loose, we let them do things all over the world, and we are just as surprised by the outcome as the audience is.

Everybody can identify with it. Everybody has traveled in a car, train or plane with somebody and knows what it's like to make last-minute decisions.

We are back to the format that has worked best: two-member teams racing around the globe.
