I think one of the biggest advantages we had was the attitude of our students. We certainly didn't overpower anybody and we weren't bigger than anybody.

The thing that was appealing at Buckeye Central was to come in and start a football program where they didn't have football before. It was quite interesting.

That group of kids really understood the game. Most of the time they learned so well I didn't call a lot of plays. My quarterbacks called the plays.

I was very pleased and honored. It was something that was unexpected.

We were the only show in town. People were concerned, but some thought it became an advantage for us.
