In the first half, we were a little passive on offense. In the second half, Hooper stepped up big, and I challenged her to take it to the goal, and she did that and got quite a few good looks.

I'm really proud of her. She came ready to play tonight.

That 3-2 zone gave us some trouble. We broke it up last time with some good shots outside, but we didn't have those going in most of tonight.

Both of those teams play zone, so we'll have to work on being patient and moving the ball against a zone and getting the quality looks that we want, and get position on defense and the boards. We'll just try to keep doing what's gotten us this far. They're going to be gunning for us, but that's okay.

At halftime we talked about some second looks that they had gotten. They're really a scrappy team. I knew we had to go to the boards hard. We discussed that at halftime, and I stressed it quite a bit.

I'm always nervous when we miss free throws. Coalfield's such a good team that if you give them chances like that, it's going to burn you, and luckily our defense was right where it needed to be down the stretch to keep them from getting another bucket.

They did a good job of getting their shooters open. That kept them in the ballgame.

Even tired, our defense did the job on them. They (the Lady Cherokees) didn't rest on defense.

She (Butcher) is very conscientious about what happens and how she handles the ball and how she gets it into the right hands. It's a matter of her relaxing and playing.
