"George Andrew "Andy" Phillips" is the current assistant coach for The University of Alabama's Alabama Crimson Tide baseball/baseball team. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees, New York Mets, and Cincinnati Reds. Phillips was raised in Demopolis, Alabama, where he played baseball for the Demopolis Academy Generals. Phillips played college baseball for the University of Alabama's former coach, Jim Wells (baseball)/Jim Wells. Phillips was an All-American for the Tide.

It's great for those guys and they're taking advantage of it. It's a big head start for them. The WBC has been a big plus for all of us coming out of the organization. We're getting a chance to show what we can do.
