We put all our money in this. It's a very entrepreneurial decision.

But the other choice was to do something radically different.

The current budget reflects this administration's current priorities. They wanted a budget that gives more money to schools. The legislators have other priorities. The budget also includes money for older projects. Those projects that we can afford to move on, we will. There are several hundred projects on hold waiting for review.

This is recognition that the Navy is implicitly accepting a supporting role in the global war on terrorism.

It will allow consumers to spend money on other things, which helps the economy. It will reduce pollution and create a cleaner environment, which are all a good indication of why Gov. Blagojevich believes this will benefit everyone, not just people who buy fuel efficient cars.

These are projects that preceded this administration, ... Many were partially paid. And we're (now) in a position to meet those commitments.

This is consistent with the administration's priorities to invest in programs that support education and health care.

You can have two family members disrupt everything that's going on, but you can have 15 who are well behaved, and it's no problem at all.

Too many of these projects were promised money without the money to cover the cost of them.
