The obscenity law is still mired in inconsistency. It simply does not give clear directions as to what is allowed to be sold or not sold to consenting adults.

I think this verdict says, 'Well, wait a second'; juries are not going to simply accept what the government says as being obscene. They obviously listened to our arguments; we just weren't able to convince them that the standard wasn't met on one of the movies. I'm encouraged from a worldwide perspective, but very disappointed on behalf of my client to have a conviction in the case.
