"Ali Ardashir Amoli Larijani" is an Iranian Philosophy/philosopher, politician and the current chairman of the Parliament of Iran. Amoli Larijani was the Supreme National Security Council/Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council from 15 August 2005 to 20 October 2007, appointed to the position by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, replacing Hassan Rouhani. Acceptance of Larijani's resignation from the secretary position was announced on 20 October 2007 by Gholamhossein Elham, the Iranian government's spokesman, mentioning that his previous resignations were turned down by President Ahmadinejad.

Amoli Larijani was one of the two representatives of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to the council, the other being Hassan Rouhani. In his post as secretary he effectively functioned as the top negotiator on issues of national security, including Iran's nuclear program.

The capacity of Russia's proposal does not meet all the nuclear energy needs of Iran.

They oppose these rushed actions that have come from some European countries. They are against that.

However, one can not say that it is a negative proposal.

The Russian offer is alive and will have long life.

We agreed members of the [Non-Proliferation Treaty] have right [sic] to peaceful nuclear energy.

The capacity of the program is not sufficient for the needs of our nuclear program. But we cannot say that it is a negative proposal. We think it can be pursued.

It cannot be said that it is a negative proposal. We therefore considered it worthy of studying, and worthy of completion.

Iran is not pessimistic...but it does not permit the others to draw the outlines of talks and to impose them on the country.

It would be a disgrace to condemn with sanctions a country for peaceful research. Surely the world would not accept such an action. But if this kind of mistake happens, the consequences of the wrong actions will return back to those who put Iran under pressure.
