The most significant and poignant part of the event is it's our chance every year for the entire synagogue community, federation community and general community to come together for one magnificent day at one magnificent event.

Even if an employer offers coverage for dependents, most people in Humboldt County have to pay for it. It's unaffordable for a family that has to pay for rent, groceries, sneakers. Paying $100, $150 or $200 a month is way beyond the realm of possibility.

One of the biggest gaps in health care in Humboldt County is in dental care, and the enhanced premium pays dentists better and almost eliminates co-pays.
