We didn't turn the ball over a lot and we didn't take many bad shots. Andy (Suter) did a great job on Fredrick in the second half, and we held (Taylor) Roehl to only four points. Like I said, it all starts with half-court defense.

He has the skills, the intelligence, the leadership ability. You put all those things together and you've got a pretty good basketball player. He's such a competitor and he's going to get better and better.

It takes a certain mental toughness to maintain a lead like that. These guys are really committed to playing defense and we knew how important it would be to get off to a good, quick, solid start.

He is capable of playing both guard positions because he is our best shooter.

He doesn't turn the ball over and he finds open players. He's a leader and he hates to lose. I think he's the total package - one of the most well-rounded players in the area.

The thing about Brett is that he wants to play. He's confident in his abilities that he's going to take the opportunity to compete at the highest level and get better.

We haven't been in that situation very often. Typically we come out strong and make shots early. I think we settled for some shots that this year we haven't. We got the ball inside but I thought we settled for jump shots early on.

That is kind of how it has been all year with Brett. He is our leader, he has great court vision and he takes it upon himself to get us going.

I know Lance well, and he's a great coach.
