The whole point is to benefit Manitobans immediately. But these don't kick in until next year and we don't know what the finances are going to be in nine months.

(This), to me, appears to be simply trying to expand their little fiefdom.

We have repeatedly called on the government to raise the basic personal exemption. We believe that is not only good fiscal policy but good public policy. It's a tax break for everybody.

We recognize it's a bit of an aberration to call on the government to actually spend money, but this is one area we believe more resources are needed.

We believe that most of the services provided by Crown corporations could easily be delivered by a competitive free market system. And we believe it's time for Manitoba to have the debate: Do we still want government-run auto insurance or do Manitobans want an option with a free market system.
